 Lesson Report for Thursday, February 4th, 2021

 

Hello, Everyone!

It was Risshun, the first day of Spring according to the lunar calendar, yesterday, wasn’t it? It really feels as if Spring is in the air, doesn’t it?!

You all did very well in the lesson again today! Please see below to review what we did. Take care, and see you on Monday!

    

Warm-up: Have you finished your homework?  *Make questions using ‘Have you …?’ about today’s activities. (Present perfect for completed actions.)

Demonstrate how to ask and answer. => Work in pairs. => Write and post a report about a partner.

Lessons 132 and 133

1. Talk about the picture.

2. Listen to the story.

3. Talk about the story. Pick a few students to retell the story. => Work in pairs for 1 min. each. (Focus on the content and communicate with others using English)

4. Repeat with the textbook closed.

5. Students put slashes where they find chunks and check Japanese translation. (Understanding the meaning.)

6. Teacher reads the text chunk by chunk and students repeat. Teacher gives them explanation where necessary.

#2-a. Review: Read the conversation out loud.

#2-b & #2-c. Complete the sentences orally all together. => Practice the conversation with the text blank. => Practice the conversation in pairs. (Look up) => One of the pairs presents.

*Complete the text right after the lesson during the after-lesson support time.

(p. 110) Grammar and Communication-3

Study the examples.

Exercise-3

#1 Study the example. => Complete the sentences all together. Pick a student and have him/her say the answer. Class says, e.g. ‘Yuto doesn’t think …’. => Practice in pairs. ‘You think/don’t think ….’
