Questions: What does Mr. Rowland hope his students did during the holiday? Is Amber applying for college? How is Sarah doing? Is it usual for Sarah to be tired?

Practice: Repeating

Practice making a summary: It’s the first day of their final term. Mr. Rowland asks his students about their college applications. Sarah is tired and Mr. Rowland asks her the reason because it’s not like her to be quiet.

Questions: What was Sarah doing when Pa asked her if she was OK? What does Pa say about her New Year’s holiday? Why is that? Does Sarah understand Pa’s feelings?

Practice making a summary: Sarah is trying to open Pa’s locker by mistake because she was thinking about something else. When Sarah asks Pa about her holiday, Pa tells her about dating with Jose. She is very excited with it.
