Hello, Class! This is Towako from MEL School.

How are you doing?

This week, we continued Chapter 34 of Bridge Work -3, practicing present and past participles and relative clauses with prepositions.

We focused on understanding how ideas are connected and using these structures to express ourselves more naturally in English.

See you next week!

Bridge Work -3

Chapter 34 Unit 2 — Grammar and Communication

1. Present and Past Participles (p. 139)

We practiced rearranging words to make meaningful sentences.

We heard a boy crying in the hall.

The police are searching for the diamonds stolen from the jewelers.

Remember that participles help us describe nouns and express relationships between actions.

2. Relative Clauses with Prepositions (pp. 139–140)

We learned how to combine sentences while keeping the necessary prepositions.

He's the teacher (who) I was talking about.

That's the house (that) I used to live in.

The prepositions about and in are essential because they complete the meaning of the verbs.

In Exercise-2, we practiced expressions such as wait for, talk with, look after, and prepare for.

3. Communication Practice

We used relative clauses to ask and answer questions about our own experiences.

Who is the person you can most easily talk to?

What is the music you want to listen to when you are excited or disappointed?

The goal was to use grammar to communicate meaningful information, not simply complete exercises.
