Hello, Class! This is Towako from MEL School.
How are you doing?
This week, we moved into the final stage of Unit 1: Communication and Media. Throughout this unit, we have learned how to identify misinformation, evaluate online sources, and think critically about the information we see online.
Now it was time to turn what you have learned into something useful for someone else. Your task was to create a poster explaining online safety or how to recognize misinformation to elementary school students. This required you to think not only about what to say, but also how to communicate it clearly to a particular audience.
See you next week!

Unit Assignment — Create a Poster
The objective was to create a poster about staying safe online or recognizing misinformation.
BRAINSTORM → PLAN → WRITE
First, you brainstormed as many ideas as possible. Then you chose three to five main points and organized them so that your message would be easy to understand.
You also thought about:
- What information is most important?
- What order makes the message clear?
- What pictures or drawings would help?
- How should the information be arranged visually?
The most important condition was your audience:
Imagine you are explaining this to elementary school students.
This means that even if you understand a complicated idea, you need to decide how to make it simple, clear, and useful for someone else.
Your final task is to create the poster and share it on Google Classroom.
