Lesson Report MEL-5 October 1, 2026

Hello, Class! This is Towako from MEL School.

How are you doing?

This week, we practiced listening for meaning in ELST and completed the final stage of Unit 2 in Q Skills.

In Q Skills, you reviewed each other’s writing and revised your own work. Writing is not finished when you complete the first draft. Reading your partner’s work, receiving feedback, and rewriting are important parts of becoming a better writer.

See you next week!

Towako

ELST Listening A2.2 #21

You first practiced the listening task individually. Then we checked the conversation together, focusing on important grammar and vocabulary, and practiced the conversation through pair role-play.

You also wrote down unfamiliar words and added them to My 練習帳.

Remember: don’t just memorize new words. Pay attention to how they are used in the conversation.

Q Skills for Success Reading and Writing Level 1

Unit 2: What is the best way to study?

(p. 40) REVISE AND EDIT

We completed the writing process for our Unit Assignment.

Peer Review → Revise → Rewrite <= Homework

You read each other’s writing and gave feedback. Please use that feedback to improve your own work. Share the revised version before next Thursday's class.

Good writing usually does not appear in the first draft. An important part of writing is learning to look at your own ideas again and make them clearer for the reader.

This will bring together the work we have done throughout Unit 2:

Learn → Think → Write → Get feedback → Improve

Lesson Review

This week, the key idea was learning through revision.

Whether you are practicing a conversation or writing a paragraph, don’t stop after the first attempt. Go back, notice what you can improve, and try again.

Practice → Feedback → Revision → Improvement
