Lesson Report Advanced May 13, 2026

Hello, Class! This is Towako from MEL School.

How are you doing?

This time, we continued thinking about communication and human behavior.

In ELST, you worked on understanding a more challenging reading passage by studying vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure carefully.
Rather than simply translating, you practiced explaining the content in your own words.

In Q Skills, you reviewed each other’s opinion paragraphs.
Reading someone else’s writing helps us notice what makes an argument clear, logical, and convincing.

Good writing is not only about grammar.
It is about communicating your ideas effectively to a reader.

Keep refining your ideas and your English!

See you next week.

Towako

ELST Reading

B1.2 #5

You worked individually to read the text carefully, copying it into your notebook while checking vocabulary and grammar.

Then, you added slashes to break long sentences into meaningful chunks, making the text easier to understand and read naturally.

After that, you practiced reading individually, then with a partner through pair repeating.

Vocabulary tasks also helped you check your understanding of key academic words.

Q Skills for Success Reading and Writing -1

Unit 6 Communication
Is choice always a good thing?

Peer-reviewing

This time, you focused on reading and reviewing each other’s opinion paragraphs.

You checked whether:

  • the main opinion was clear
  • the supporting reasons made sense
  • the paragraph was logically organized
  • the conclusion matched the main idea

Giving feedback is an important communication skill.
It helps us become stronger writers and more careful readers.

You also had a chance to rethink your own writing after reading your classmates’ ideas.
