Lesson Report MEL-5 May 21, 2026

Hello, Class! This is Towako from MEL School.

How are you doing?

It’s May 21st, 2026. It’s wet today.

Even though many of you are still in the middle of your school exams, you worked hard and did a great job! Well done.

I hope you enjoyed interviewing your partner about their childhood. It’s always interesting to learn new things about each other—and using English to talk about real memories makes communication much more meaningful.

Take care of yourselves during this busy season, and don’t forget to get enough rest!

See you next week.

Towako

ELST

Listening A2.2 #6

This time, you worked on listening comprehension individually and then checked the conversation together.

We also looked at important grammar and vocabulary points to help you understand the conversation more deeply.

After that, you practiced shadowing, focusing on pronunciation, rhythm, and fluency.

Listening carefully and immediately reproducing English helps build stronger communication skills.

Bridge to MEL-3

Chapter 27 Unit 2
She used to be shy but she isn’t any longer.

Vocabulary in Use 1: 時に関する表現

You practiced vocabulary related to time expressions, listened and repeated the words, and completed a short text using the target expressions.

Reading the completed text aloud together helped reinforce both meaning and pronunciation.

Grammar and Communication-1
used to

This time, you reviewed how to use used to to talk about past habits or situations.

First, you listened, caught the meaning, and reproduced the sentences orally.

Then, you completed grammar exercises individually and checked the answers together.

This kind of grammar practice helps turn knowledge into language you can actually use.

Interview Activity

Finally, you interviewed your partner about their childhood using used to.

For example:

Did you use to play outside a lot?
What games did you use to play?
Did you use to be shy?

MEL-5 is about moving beyond short answers and using English for real conversation.

It was great to see you asking questions, listening carefully, and learning more about each other.
